SHADLE PARK HIGHLANDER INVITATIONAL
NOTE: There will be no refunds for cancelled race do to uncontrolled conditions such as weather, fire smoke, etc.
*Dear Coaches:
We invite you and your team to the 48th Highlander Invitational. 2019 was our biggest year on record for the Highlander and we're looking for another great year in 2020! The Shadle Park Highlander Invitational will be held on Saturday, September 12th, 2020. We would like to extend an invitation to you and to your team to participate in our meet. A map will be sent to you who confirm you are coming as well as provided in your Meet Packet upon arrival.
Outstanding spectator viewing for the entire race. We will also provide concessions and a coffee truck for spectators, athletes, and coaches this year. Shirts will we sold on the east side of the track, where you can also pick up your Meet Packets, check-in, and drop your checks if need be - we do prefer them to be mailed ahead of time, however.
We have a course with a great starting area and a highly visible finish that adds to the excitement of the Highlander. All races will be 2.5 miles in length. The surface is almost entirely grass. The race is held at Shadle Park High School.
We have our 2nd annual Combined 5th/6th Grade 1-loop Highlander Course FOR SHADLE PARK FEEDER ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS ONLY. We'll cap the elementary race at 100 racers. There will not be official timing, however coaches and parents are encouraged to time their runners. We're excited to provide a local opportunity for elementary runners to get a taste of the legendary Highlander Invite! (let us know #'s ahead of time, please!)

EVENTS SCHEDULE:
1. 5th/6th grade boys/girls (FREE!) . . . 9:00 a.m. 1 mile to SP Feeder Schools (coaches/parents time)
2. Freshman boys . . . . . . . 9:30 a.m. 4 score
3. Freshman girls . . . . . . . 10:00 a.m. 4 score
4. Sophomore boys . . . . . . 10:30 a.m. 4 score
5. Girls Combined Race . . . . . 11:00 a.m. 5 score
The Girls “Combined” race is for schools with enrollments under 600 and for JV teams from larger schools. (Unlimited entries.) You may opt up to the Varsity girls’ race if you prefer. Max 7 entries for Girls Varsity race.
Only in the Girls varsity and Combined races will 5 runners score. In all other races only your top 4 runners score.
6. Junior boys . . . . . . . . . 11:30 a.m. 4 score
7. Varsity girls . . . . . . . . . Noon 5 score (Max 7 entries for Girls)
8. Senior boys . . . . . . . . . 12:30 p.m. 4 score
9. Wheel Chair Event. . . . . . 1:00 p.m. (let us know #'s ahead of time, please!)
AWARDS - 1:15PM, following last race on track
Trophies will be awarded for each 1st place team in each division. Ribbons for top 20 individual places.
PAYMENT
The entry fee is $25 per athlete, $80 for one gender team, and $100 if you're are sending both girls/boys teams. We have had to raise prices since we haven't done so in year, but we continue to be one of the most affordable and longest running meets in the state!

Take the Maple Street Bridge exit off of I-90 and go north for 3.5 miles to the light on Wellesley Ave. Take a left on Wellesley and you will see Shadle Park on your left one block away. We look forward to seeing you on Sept. 14th!
