2019 Camp Farragut information
We’re excited to invite you to our chosen running camp for the summer! Farragut Running camp is open to all runners of any ability, incoming grades 9-12. This is perfect for athletes looking to gain an edge in fitness for their fall sport and meet current and new teammates on those from other teams. Each day, athletes will get to experience running the beautiful trails of Farragut state park. There will be daily runs, lessons on running technique, form, nutrition, hydration, and plenty of team bonding through camp activities and games!
THE DETAILS
Camp includes about 100 athletes. We will share two large group campgrounds - one designated for females and the other for males, chaperoned by same-sex parent volunteers and coaches. Parent volunteers welcome.
Breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks will be provided throughout the week - sometimes this is the best part of camp! If an athlete has a specialty diet or allergy requests, we will do our best to accommodate, let us know ASAP, but it’s usually best they bring their own food.
Campers will be assigned a team on the first day, which they will compete with in various activities and games over the course of the camp week. On the last night, teams will act out a skit for one last chance to take the win! On the last day of camp, there will be a 2-mile race to get teams excited for the upcoming fall sports season and see where their fitness is at. On the last day of camp, Thursday, athletes will also have the opportunity to go to Silverwood Theme Park (included in the cost of camp).
